Programme Overview

The Level 4 Diploma in Computing combines academic and vocational training, covering foundational computing knowledge suitable for further study or IT careers. It is equivalent to the first year of a Computing degree qualification in the UK university system. Total qualification time is 1,200 hours (540 guided learning hours), delivered over one year full-time or two to three years part-time. Available year-round in English.

Entry Requirements

  • NCC Education Level 3 Diploma in Computing, or International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies, OR
  • One GCE A-Level or equivalent school-leaving certificate, OR
  • Grade 12 / High School Certificate
  • English language: IELTS 5.5 or above, GCE O-Level English C6, or pass the NCC Education Higher English Placement Test
  • Mature applicants with 2+ years relevant work experience plus GCE O-Level English/Maths may qualify

No prior programming experience is required for entry into this programme. Students who completed a Level 3 Diploma in Computing at TNEDU progress directly with full credit recognition.

Assessment

Assessment is through a combination of coursework assignments, projects, and formal examinations. Formative assessments provide ongoing feedback throughout; summative assessments determine final grades.
