The PhD in Political Science and International Studies offers students the opportunity to undertake independent scholarly research in a topic of their interest within the fields of politics, governance, and global affairs. To graduate, students must:
Successfully complete all required core and elective courses.
Pass the doctoral qualification exam.
Attend and present in the doctoral seminar.
Produce and defend a PhD thesis that demonstrates original research and makes a significant scholarly contribution to the field.
Master’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Law, Public Policy, or a related field.
A strong academic record with a minimum GPA requirement as per university standards.
English language proficiency (IELTS 6.5+, TOEFL iBT 90+, or equivalent).
Research proposal aligned with the program’s thematic areas.
Two academic references.
Updated CV detailing academic and professional achievements.
Students will be evaluated through a combination of:
Coursework Assignments – Applied projects, research essays, and analytical tasks to assess understanding of core and elective subjects in political science and international studies.
Written Examinations – Testing theoretical knowledge, critical thinking, and the ability to apply political and international relations concepts to real-world issues.
Seminar Participation – Evaluation based on engagement, research presentation, and scholarly discussion in the doctoral seminar.
Research Progress Reports – Periodic submissions to monitor the advancement of the thesis and ensure alignment with academic objectives.
PhD Thesis – The final and most significant assessment, requiring original research, a written dissertation, and an oral defense before a panel of experts.
